Welcome to the Networks Research Laboratory (NetRL).

NetRL is part of the Computer Science Department of the University of Cyprus (UCY). It was established in the year 2002 in an effort to promote and coordinate research activities in all areas of Networks Research, including wireline and wireless, mobile and ad-hoc, MANETS and VANETS, and sensor networks.

The Founder and Director of NetRL is Dr. Andreas Pitsillides , Professor, Department of Computer Science, UCY, and the Co-Director is Dr Vasos Vasiliou , Lecturer, Department of Computer Science, UCY.

Latest Activities and News:

The project "Social Networking of the Smart Home", performed by Andreas Kamilaris and Prof. Andreas Pitsillides as part of their activities on the Web of Things, has recently received the attention of the Web community.
Numerous blogging sites and newspapers have mentioned this work including Plogg International ,  Product Sourcing, Benzinga, EarthTechling, and newspaper article (in greek). Recently a best papers was awarded during the ENERGY 2011 conference.

Through this work, household appliances and sensors penetrate deeply into social networking infrastructures, fully leveraging their software mechanisms in order to enable a vision of a smart home with a social shape.
